Discovering Paradise Point Nature Cabana, Kandy

Hidden away in the hills of Kande, not far from Kandy, Paradise Point Nature Cabana is a tranquil retreat that feels like a secret gem. Nestled within the Kumbukewela Estate, Magaha, Unuwinna Via, the property offers an escape into nature, scenic mountains, and simple comforts.

Setting & Ambience

From the moment you begin the drive up narrow lanes toward the cabana, you’ll sense the surroundings growing quieter and greener. At higher elevation, the views open up — rolling hills, misty valleys, tree-covered slopes, and more — making the entire place feel like a vantage point over nature itself. Guests often refer to it as a “hidden gem” with 360° views

The architecture is intimate and understated. The cabanas and cottages fuse with the natural surroundings, with outdoor seating, stone carving details, swings, and pathways leading through gardens and native flora.  There are shared terraces and a garden, which invite you to sit quietly with a cup of tea or just breathe in the mountain air.

Access & Nearby Attractions

While Paradise Point is somewhat secluded (which is part of its charm), reaching it is doable via local roads. It is located in Kandy, within Kandy District.

In terms of surroundings and possible excursions:

  • The Kandy Museum and Temple of the Tooth (Sri Dalada Maligawa) are around 26 km away (approx) from the property.

  • The Victoria Reservoir / Kandy Seaplane Base is farther off, but mentioned in their listing as a reference point.

  • The environment is ideal for hiking, birdwatching, nature walks, and simply relaxing immersed in green landscapes.

Because of its vantage and hillside location, sunrise and sunset views are likely spectacular. Also, stargazing is a bonus in a less light-polluted area.

Tips & Suggestions for Visitors

  • Bring comfortable walking shoes — many paths and steps traverse slopes.

  • In the evenings, temperatures may drop; a light jacket may be useful.

  • Ask the hosts in advance about meals (especially dinner), or request particular diets, as food is done in-house and likely needs notice.

  • Capture photos during golden hour (sunrise or sunset) — the views and lighting are very photogenic.

  • If possible, stay more than one night to fully relax and explore nearby nature corners.
